For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; - Romans 3:23
According to the scriptures, every person at some point has broken Gods law. Among the many titles that God has, one of them is judge. Since he is a righteous judge, he cannot turn a blind eye to sin. Nor can he justify sin with good works.
If I sin, then thou markest me, and thou wilt not acquit me from mine iniquity
Job 10:14
God made a resolution to our desperate need of salvation.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. – Romans 5:8
It is necessary that Jesus Christ make our payment because there is nothing we can do of ourselves that can wash away sin. He lived a perfect life without sin that He might bestow his righteousness to you, and pay our sentence which we deserve.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:23
There is only one way to get to heaven which is through the finished work of Jesus Christ. He did all the work and offers you the reward. Its a free gift.
There is no religion, no good work, no prayer, no promise you can make, or any church that can get you to heaven.
Therefore as by the offence of one [judgment came] upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one [the free gift came] upon all men unto justification of life. – Romans 5:18
The method of receiving the free gift is by faith alone. Trusting in Jesus Christ, trusting His word.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast
Ephesians 2:8
Maybe your thinking, “it cant be this simple”, but it truly is. God is that good.
The Death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ for you.
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: – 1 Corinthians 15:1-5
It matters not what you’ve done in the past.
God says “believe me” and he will count it righteousness to you. So then we are without excuse. This will be the most important decision you will make in this life. You can reject what God has offered to all freely and attempt to find your own way or even deny Gods truth, or you will believe God and be forever sealed, free of all sins past, present and future. Its completely up to you.
And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
1 Corinthians 15:17
If you’ve made the decision to believe God, trusting in the gospel described above, then the Word of God says some incredible things about who you are now.
You are dead. Romans 6:4
You are baptized by the Holy Spirit into Jesus Christ. (This is not a water baptism) Romans 6:4
You are complete in Jesus Christ. Colossians 2:10
You are sealed forever. Ephesians 1:13
You are accepted of the beloved. Ephesians 1:6
You are justified. Romans 5:1
No longer do you have to worry about where you will go after this life is over.
let God be true, but every man a liar;
Romans 3:4
